Survivors

Through the eyes of Sierra Leonean filmmaker Arthur Pratt, Survivors presents an intimate portrait of his country during the Ebola outbreak, exposing the complexity of the epidemic and the sociopolitical turmoil that lies in its wake. During one of the most acute public health crises of the modern era, Survivors reveals the bureaucratic missteps that took place, as well as remarkable stories of individual bravery and the deep humanity of those caught in the middle of this unfolding crisis.

Survivors was nominated for a 2019 News & Documentary Emmy® Award for Outstanding Social Issue Feature Documentary, nominated for a Peabody Award, and broadcast on PBS’ POV.

Survivors is a co-production of WEOWNTV and American Documentary | POV, and ITVS. Directed by Arthur Pratt. Co-Directed by Banker White, Anna Fitch and Barmmy Boy. Andrew Gersh was a story consultant and contributing editor on Survivors through a grant from the Sundance Institute.
